No surprise here-Survey Finds that the economy is a significant source of Stress symptoms


A Stress recent in America survey conducted in September found that 80% of Americans felt that the economy was a significant reason for stress symptoms in their lives. This figure is up from 66% in April 2008.

The financial crisis is taking its toll on all of us ... but more especially women. Not surprising with the way things were going from late-Wall Street is volatile ... layoffs are expected ... food prices are rising, the values of our homes and our 401K are sinking like a stone. No wonder that people stress ed are-we all have good reasons.

"Physical and emotional health of individuals is more vulnerable, taking into account the high stress levels in our country now," says psychologist Katherine Nordal, PhD, Executive Director of the American Psychological Association for professional practice.

The survey data were collected online by Harris Interactive on behalf of the American Psychological Association between June and August 2008. Participants had to live in the United States and be at least 18 years of age. According to the survey, top stress ors for Americans who participated include ...

All this takes its toll ... If you acknowledge it or not. In 2008, more people to handle stress the related physical and emotional symptoms than in 2007.
