It is difficult to stay motivated to exercise regularly, and many of us use the promise of better appearance and long-term health in order to keep the. If this is too hard, but try to use the short-term benefits — like to stress relief — as motivation instead.
Over on weblog Blonde & balanced, they have taken a different approach to exercise motivation. Instead of thinking in the long term, just think of it as a cure to the end of a stressful day:
Difficult it is to maintain an exercise routine, I always feel so great after it is over. This is the main thing that keeps me coming back for more. After an excruciating workout, when I am exhausted, and my legs feel like rubber, my head is always ready, I'm feeling grateful I feel accomplished, I feel cleansed and, most of all, I feel happy.
They go to the list of all short term benefits you feel: stress relief, a cure for boredom, brainstorming, or even socialization. May not work for all — you can personally hate everything that has to feel during a workout — but if the long-term goal is too abstract to get you from the couch right now, you may be better off motivate yourself with the benefits, you'll feel right now.
